Aerospace Federal Credit Union (AFCU) will never initiate a phone call, email, or text message asking you for confidential information. Do not respond to any request for confidential information such as account numbers, passwords, or PIN and contact AFCU immediately at 800-795-2325.
AFCU is alerting members to an increase in scam text messages falsely claiming to be AFCU. These messages often ask if you attempted a purchase at a popular merchant, asking you to reply Yes or No. Do not reply or click on any links included in these scam text messages. They are fraudulent and designed to trick you into sharing sensitive personal or account information. Here are examples of the fraudulent texts:

AFCU has a fraud alert system in place that will alert you via SMS text and email when suspicious activity on your AFCU Credit Card or Debit Card is detected. The text messages are free for cardholders and will come from short code "49447" for Credit Cards and short code "65924" for Debit Cards. You can save these codes as contacts in your mobile phone. The texts are interactive and will ask you to reply Y (yes) or N (no) to verify if you made the transaction.
If you are unable to respond to the fraud alert SMS text or email, you will receive an interactive digital phone call. If the phone call is not answered, you will receive a digital voicemail, prompting you to call back at a specific phone number.
To take advantage of Automated Fraud Alerts, make sure your current email and phone number is on your AFCU account. You can add it by visiting the branch, updating your contact information in AeroAccess online banking settings, or calling us at 800-795-2325.
