Position Overview
The Compliance Officer will manage and support the credit union’s compliance management system, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands‑on, collaborative environment and wants to make a meaningful impact within a mid‑sized credit union.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct daily BSA/AML and OFAC monitoring and reporting.
- Review and update internal policies and procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external compliance audits.
- Manage subpoenas and legal information requests.
- Monitor regulatory changes and guide implementation.
- Collaborate with departments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Conduct and oversee compliance training for staff and volunteers.
- Prepare and maintain compliance documentation and reporting.
- Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support monthly Supervisory Committee meetings and provide reporting to management and the Board.
- Provide backup support to management and department staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Foundational understanding of financial‑services compliance; credit union experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior compliance or regulatory experience is a plus.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $110,000 – $145,000 annually, depending on experience.
This range reflects competitive compensation for a mid‑sized credit union in the El Segundo market.
