Every THIRD WEDNESDAY of the month in 2026 is "Debit Card Day" where AFCU members can get up to a $20 rebate to their AFCU Checking Account when they use their AFCU VISA® Debit Card at Aerospace Cafeterias in El Segundo, California and Flik Café in Chantilly, Virginia. In addition to the $20 rebate, AFCU members can form teams of 3 to compete in the Debit Card Day Challenge for their team's total debit card purchaes to be as close as possible to $60 on Debit Card Days and win up to $300!
OBJECTIVE
Aerospace Federal Credit Union (AFCU) members are encouraged to form a team of three (3) members to participate in the AFCU Debit Card Day Challenge. The challenge is for registered teams to make qualified purchases at Aerospace cafeterias in El Segundo, California or Flik Café in Chantilly, Virginia (approved merchants) on an approved AFCU "Debit Card Day" totaling as close as possible to $60.00 without going over. Rules subject to change without notice.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
- Exactly 3 members per team
- At least one team member must be an existing AFCU member who joined AFCU prior to the beginning of this promotion (March 19, 2026)
- Members of a 3-person team who join AFCU during the promotional period qualify each team member to receive $25 at the time of team registration. If two of the 3-person team join AFCU during the promotional period, each team member qualifies to receive $50 at the time of team registration. A maximum of $50 per team member is possible at the time of team registration
- Team members can not be on more than one team at the same time
- Register your team and team members on the AFCU website: www.aerofcu.org/debit
- Team registration is good for all Debit Card Days in 2026. If there are any changes to team members, a new team must be registered
- Team members must be AFCU members with an AFCU Checking Account and Debit Card
- Any team member who has joined AFCU and not received their AFCU Debit Card must get a printed receipt from one of the approved merchants on Debit Card Day and bring it into the credit union or email a copy to marketing@aerofcu.org
- AFCU staff, volunteers and members of their immediate household are not eligible to participate in this or any AFCU-sponsored sweepstakes or promotional drawings
TIME LIMIT
- All purchases must be completed on the same approved Debit Card Day in 2026 which occurs on the third (3rd) Wednesday of the month
- Approved Debit Card Days in 2026 are April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, and December 16
- Only purchase transactions that are made on the same Debit Card Day qualify for this promotion
PURCHASE RULES
✔ Must use an AFCU Debit Card
✔ Must provide receipt if an AFCU Debit Card has not yet been received
✔ Only approved merchants allowed
✔ Only transactions on the approved dates allowed
✘ No cash withdrawals
✘ No splitting of payments between multiple payment sources allowed
✘ No refunds/returns during challenge
✘ No exceeding $60.00 per team
BUDGET LIMIT
Target: $60.00
- Total Debit Card Day Challenge transactions for each team must total $60.00 or less to qualify
SCORING
- Total Debit Card Day Challenge transaction amounts for each team must total $60.00 or less to qualify
- Total Debit Card Day Challenge transaction amounts for each team closest to $60.00 without going over wins
TIEBREAKER RULES
If teams are tied:
- Most debit card transactions performed by your team in the prior calendar month
- If still tied: Fewest number of Debit Card Day Challenge transactions wins
PRIZE
- Each member of the winning team will receive $65 each into their AFCU Checking Accounts
- Supercharge your team by recruiting new AFCU members! Each member of the winning team will receive an extra $35 in addition to the $65 for a total of $100 into their AFCU Checking Accounts if one or more team members joined AFCU in 2026 during the promotional period.
- Cash prizes will be awarded two (2) days after the Debit Card Day Challenges (Friday)
