Open a Rainy Day Certificate at 10.00% APY

The Rainy Day 12-Month Certificate at 10.00% APY* is available to new or existing AFCU members who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Aggregate average daily share balance in all share accounts must be $3,000 or less during the 180 days before Rainy Day Certificate opening.
  • Active or new direct deposit of at least $250 per month to your AFCU Savings Account.
  • Direct deposit must be established by the 20th of the month following the Rainy Day Certificate opening.
  • Initial $250 deposit may come from any source.
  • At certificate opening, member must have or establish:
    • AFCU Checking Account with Debit Card
    • Online Banking with eStatements

* APY = Annual Percentage Yield. Limit one Rainy Day Certificate per member in good standing. An initial minimum deposit of $250 is required to open the account, along with a minimum balance of $250 and direct deposits of at least $250 per month into the Primary Share Account are required to earn the 10.00% APY. Qualifying direct deposits consist of a paycheck, pension payment, Social Security payment, or other government benefits payment electronically deposited into the Primary Share Account from an employer or outside agency. Deposits from other financial institutions do not qualify as direct deposits. AFCU reserves the right to request documentation that the direct deposits qualify. Withdrawal of principle prior to maturity will result in the closure of the certificate and an early withdrawal penalty of 90 days dividend or the total loss of dividends earned to date, whichever is less. Fees may reduce earnings. Offer subject to change without notice. Membership eligibility required. Federally insured by NCUA.
